About » History

Lockton is the world's largest, privately owned, independent insurance broker. With more than 3,894 associates in 2010, Lockton delivers seamless service to companies of all sizes as well as to individual Clients. The company was founded by Jack Lockton in Kansas City, Missouri, USA in 1966. Since that time, Lockton has grown to become a major global broker in the world.

In the Philippines, operations began in 1994 as a joint venture between Nelson Hurst of London and Vic Valledor. Vic and his team of seasoned professionals from Cititrust spearheaded the company's rise among the top brokers in the country, steadily growing in size to eclipse the industry.

In 1997, the Forbes Group acquired Nelson Hurst and banded under a new name Alexander Forbes. In 2006, Lockton expanded globally with the acquisition of Alexander Forbes International Risk Services, now called Lockton International. Today, our Lockton associates based in Europe, Asia, and Latin America serve clients around the world.

Lockton Philippines continues to make strides in the insurance broking industry. Lockton's success flows from its commitment "to provide the most uncommon results and service in a most common business."
